Ray was born and raised as a native of Plainfield. He graduated from Plainfield High School as part of the class of '81. He received an Associate’s degree in Business from Joliet Junior College, and continued his education to complete his Bachelor's degree in Finance at Northern Illinois University. Go Huskies! Ray began his journey with State Farm while working in claims and providing superb customer service to policyholders from day one. Additionally, he spent 3 1/2 years serving on the National Catastrophe Team traveling around the country and handling claims dealing with major hurricanes, earthquakes, wind, and hail, which allowed Ray to develop in depth knowledge of the State Farm contracts. Ray finally opened his own agency in 2001 in his hometown, Plainfield, Illinois right off Route 59, to give back and serve the people in his community.

Ray’s family grew along with his business. He and his wife, Joan, reside down the road in Shorewood, Illinois where they raised two amazing children, Sheridan and Christopher, and their family dog, Frosty. Sheridan is successfully advancing in her career after graduating and obtaining a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. Christopher is a Senior at the University of Alabama, who is looking forward to graduating soon. Ray and his family are avid foodies and enjoy trying all types of cuisines, so be sure to let him know what your favorite restaurants are next time you're in the office! With an empty nest, Ray enjoys quality time with his wife, traveling, supporting all Chicago sports year-round, and indulging in all the outdoor activities he loves: golfing, fishing, and grilling out in the summer!
